Eat, Drink, & Be Merry

From Eat Street, with Love is a cookbook that only scratches the surface of one of the most flavorful neighborhoods in the Midwest. “Eat Street” — as we call it here in Minneapolis — is a unique stretch of 17 blocks on the south side of Nicollet Avenue. Like a culinary mini United Nations, it has managed to attract and retain unique restaurants and business owners from all over the world.

The uniqueness of dishes is only the beginning of what makes Eat Street different. One of the first things we noticed in creating this cookbook was how welcoming and open the neighborhood truly is. Instead of being guarded about their personal stories and sought-after recipes, many embraced the opportunity to share them with everyone. This good will and collaboration extended beyond recipes — our interviews revealed stories of Eat Street business owners helping one another and a real respect (and craving) for one another’s dishes.

That’s why we wanted to bring these dishes to you. As new members of the Eat Street business community, we are truly humbled by the amazing food and inspiring people this neighborhood has to offer. Our admiration doesn’t stop at lunchtime; we’ve had the fortune of working with many food companies as clients over the years, and Eat Street’s creativity and entrepreneurial spirit continue to inspire and motivate us. In an effort to give back and keep the neighborhood strong, we are donating all proceeds to the Whittier Business Alliance.
